Zlink instructions
Please note for carplay to work you must have Siri turned on on your iPhone. it takes a while to connect for the first time. After connecting to carplay the Bluetooth on your phone will show "disconnected" but it actually is connected using carplay. Once your phone is connected to carplay via Bluetooth you cannot connect your phone to another Bluetooth simultaneously.
If you want to update the Zlink app, connect the internet to the head unit via WiFi (mobile hotspot) and click Zlink and then update.
FAQ: When I disconnect Bluetooth it won't connect to carplay. Any quick suggestions so it will connect to car play as soon as I start the car?
Answer: The wireless carplay works like this:
1. You must pair your iPhone's Bluetooth with the radio upgrade system's Bluetooth first.
2. After the Bluetooth is paired successfully, you need to manually launch the "ZLINK" application from the radio upgrade system's screen. And the radio upgrade system will communicate with your iPhone through Bluetooth.
3. In the background "ZLINK" sets up a hotspot on the radio upgrade system and connects your iPhone to the radio's hotspot through Wi-Fi.
4. After the iPhone connects to the radio through Wi-Fi, the Bluetooth will disconnect automatically. And you can use wireless carplay. But Bluetooth shows "disconnected" and Wi-Fi shows disabled, this is normal. Because carplay will need Bluetooth to make calls etc.
Usually, the radio upgrade system needs 10-15 seconds to boot, then 5-10 seconds to connect Bluetooth, then 5-10 seconds to connect Wi-Fi, and allows you to use wireless carplay.
Note: It pops up a window on your iPhone and asks if you want to allow it to use the wireless carplay. You must click the "allow to use wireless carplay" on your iPhone quickly. If it does not pop up a window on your iPhone, it means the connection is a timeout(maybe someone does not notice there is a window pop-up on the iPhone). Please delete paired Bluetooth. Power off the car and lock the door, wait 10 minutes, and start the car again. Try again after the radio upgrade system restarts.
1. Uninstall the existing ZLINK app.
2. Download this file to a USB thumb drive and connect to the radio upgrade system's USB port and install it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ygPNs2YivRfeMfF96YXwzO9aos_ZXqy
3. After the app has been installed, shut down the car and lock the doors, and wait for 20 minutes. Restart the car again.
4. Connect the radio upgrade to Wi-Fi and launch ZLINK to activate it.
5. Try the carplay again.
