- Question: I am experiencing noise to the speakers when the radio is not muted. Is there a solution to fix this?
Answer: Please check the attached picture here. The main power/audio harness has an audio filter. Please move the plug from A to B and check again.
- Question: What is the factory setting password?
Answer: The password for the factory setting is 1912. However, please DO NOT need to make any changes in the factory settings and the radio may not work correctly if you change the settings incorrectly.
- Question: Reboot/Restart?:

- Question: Where are the Preamps for the Aftermarket Amplifier?:
Answer: RR, RL, FR, FL is the options to attach to the external amplifier. - Question: What is the Grey, black & blue connector for?
Answer: You don’t need to use them. - Question: Should the end of this connector be taped off since the 3 pins are exposed?
Answer: Yes, that will be fine.
- Question: There is a Brown cable with label "Back" what is this cable use for?
Answer: Reverse trigger wire for aftermarket backup camera if the car has a manual transmission. Not need to use if the car has auto transmission.
- Question: There is a red cable with the label "ACC. I assume this will provide Power when key at ACC ?
Answer: Yes.
- Question: Should I tape the end of this cable to prevent a short circuit?
Answer: Yes, that will be fine.
- Question: The USB cable shows as Carplay, I thought I had purchased one with wireless carplay, is this not the case?
Answer: Ignore the label, and this unit supports wireless carplay.
- Question: Can this cable be used for Android Auto as well?
Answer: Ignore the label, and this unit supports wireless Android auto.
- Question: Currently, on my mini vehicle, there is a built-in subwoofer I would assume the subwoofer will still be functional.
Answer: Yes. - Question: There is Green connector with label USB but it is circle connector, is this an option for additional USB connector?
Answer: It is the adapter to retain the factory USB port. - Question: There are 4 circular connector with Yellow, Blue, Black and Green color and inside I can see there is a very small 4 pins. What are these connections for?
Answer: They are used to install an aftermarket 360 panoramic system. - From the yellow connector that is a red cable, should the end be tape out to prevent short circuit?
Yes, that will be fine. - Question: What kind of antenna are these?
Answer: These are two flat antennas. - Question: Where is the best place to install this antenna?Inside the dashboard, under dashboard, etc?
Answer: Put them on the dashboard or in the storage box on the passenger side to get good reception. - Question: How far apart do they have to be from each other? Can they be placed on top of each other or side by side?
Answer: Yes.
- Question: I assume the GPS antenna is for map purpose and needs to be placed somewhere on the dashboard?
Answer: Put it on the dashboard to get a good reception.
- Question: Would you be able to advise on the recommended location to place the mic?
Answer: In the sunroof control panel.
- Question: I assume these mic are for making phone call and for apple Siri?
Answer: Yes.
- Question: If I do not install the mic, will that hinder the ability to make hands free phone call?
Answer: Yes. Another end will not hear you at all.
- Question: The tachometer lights on the new head unit is different colors and does not go all the way around. The lights stop half way only for the tachometer lighting. How can I change it so it goes all the way around and can I change the colors back to its original color as on the original head unit?
Answer: Please check the attached video here. - Question: The environmental lighting does not seem to be working on the new head unit. In the settings menu I have it turned on, however, whenever I change the color of environmental lighting, nothing shows up on the new head unit.
Answer: You can not control the ambient lighting color on the new unit. It shows different colors while the car makes different actions, for example, accelerating, braking, turning turn signal, etc. - Question: My FM radio is not working. I see the cable for FM radio but it does not plug into anything from the original cable set that I unplugged from. Video here
Answer: The antenna with the black Fakra plug is the FM/AM antenna.
- Question: We also can't figure out how to assign FM stations to the physical preset buttons. We can scan and set favorites, but can't assign those presets. I'm sure we're missing something obvious, but we can't figure it out.
Answer: You can not assign the FM stations to the physical preset buttons. However, if you touch the "search" icon on the FM screen, it will search and store FM stations automatically, and you can select them through the 1-6 physical buttons. - Question: After watching the installation video, I have this extra plug that they don't have in their mini, which I could not find a spot for. It's a small black three-hole plug. I will include a picture of the plug and where it was in the original head unit.
Answer: It is the power plug for the original ambient lighting ring. Our radio has a built-in ambient lighting ring, and you don’t need to use this cable. - Question: Fuel consumption unit?
Answer: The fuel consumption unit can not be changed at the moment. Future firmware updates may fix this issue. 21 January 2025.
- Question: How to set up the Time?
Answer: You may have noticed that the time displayed on the radio is inaccurate when you start the car next time. This is because the Android system completely shuts down after you turn off the vehicle, and the time stops. However, I want to assure you that the radio is designed to calibrate the time automatically once it gets a GPS signal or internet connection. Therefore, you do not need to adjust it manually. Depending on the weather, the radio can usually get the GPS signal within 30 seconds to two minutes. It receives the GPS signal quickly on sunny days and gets the GPS signal slowly on rainy or cloudy days.
- Question: What may be the cause of why the head unit shuts down when I try to select radio, either by the button or in the menu?
Answer: Please check the attached picture. Original car switch>turn it off.
- Question: Blank Screen:
Answer: A setting was changed incorrectly, and it needs to be corrected before proceeding. Please have a look at the attached video. Origin car switch>OFF. - Question: LVDS connector?
Answer: No need for this connector here. It is the LVDS cable that connects the original screen and head unit. Our product replaces the original screen and does not need it. Picture here. - Question: I press the "am/fm, mode" buttons or change drive modes. The screen will go blank and will not allow me to do anything, but it will show when I open the door.
Answer: Please check the attached video. Change the setting to Radio.
- Question: The tachometer ring light will max out around 3000 rpm instead of 6000 rpm.
Answer: Please have a look at the attached video. You can set up the ring separately. -
Question: I am trying to figure out why my Amazon Music playlist stops playing when ever my car (Mini) is not moving. It stops whenever I bring the car to a stop, like at a stop sign. I looked online but just found it is some kind of safety feature
Answer: Does your vehicle have an Auto Start-Stop function? If so, does the music continue playing after you disable the Auto Start-Stop feature?
Feedback: I turned on the Auto Start-Stop function and the music from my Amazon list continued to play. Continuing to play withthe switch I found that each time the switch was Off music would not play when the car was not moving.
