Of course, this doesn’t guarantee that you will be able to determine your iDrive version with 100% accuracy, because in some countries the production month can be different. We highly recommend you to send the 17 digits of your VIN(vehicle identification number) and a photo of the existing dashboard with the home menu on the screen to info@sigmacarstereo.com to verify the compatibility before placing the order.
NOTE that the BMW CIC system has two different LVDS plugs, 4-pin or 6-pin. You must remove the existing screen to check it is 4 pins or 6 pins. The products are totally different, if you choose the wrong LVDS connector style, you will get the wrong product that is not compatible with your car.
Installation video
NOTE the car in the above installation video is an Auto transmission and has a factory installed parking radar system.
If your car is Manual transmission, then this product is NOT compatible with your car, please DO NOT buy it.
If your car is Auto transmission, then the camera guidelines move when you turn the steering wheel.
If your car has a factory-installed parking radar system, then it also displays the parking radar info.
If your car does not have factory installed parking radar system, then it does not display the parking radar info. There is only a car icon on the right side of the screen.
Why does the Sirius/XM radio and original car computer info not display? Why does the AUX-IN volume stuck on zero and not adjustable?
Answer: Please check the fiber optics plug, you need to move it from the original connector to the new connector we provided.
